A heartwarming sweet proposal at dawn

Leekie reached out to me about proposing to the love of his life. He mentioned that he wanted to find an oceanside location. So we drove to Wrightsville beach at 1:00am. It took us about three hours to make it in time before the sun would rise. We parked our car and walked 0n to the warm sun. The air was muggy despite it being completely dark still. The moon was out as the sun was barely peaking from the horizon. And the sound of the waves echoed its melody behind a fluttering linen proposal setup. Written on that linen banner were these words:

“And the two shall become one.” Ephesians 5:31

Leekie shuffled back and forth between the sea oats and the sand making sure everything was in place with flowers draped across his arms. And then she made her entrance. Lilly showed up in her lacy dress and walked down the sandy beach moved by this very moment. She met her lover as the sun finally rose. Tears filled her eyes, and her heart was full as she stood in front of the easiest “yes” of her lifetime.
